💻Newport News May Be Next for a Major Data Center |
Newport News may land a new data center. The city is considering a site off Jefferson as Virginia continues to expand one of the world’s largest data center clusters.
Why it matters: Data centers look plain, but they bring stable jobs, huge tax revenue, and often spark nearby development. The biggest concern is power load, though Dominion says it's manageable.
If it lands, that whole section of Jefferson could see a long-term shift.
