The Hilton and Monitor-Merrimac fishing piers both need full rebuilds after inspectors found major damage. The city is working on permits now, with construction possibly starting later this year.

Reopening will take time. Hilton is targeting 2027, while Monitor-Merrimac could stretch into 2028.

👉 Until then, anglers can fish at King-Lincoln Park, Denbigh Park, or the James River Fishing Pier.
