Saffron Mediterranean restaurant
Saffron's owner shares that Afghanistan is a country of over 10,000 years old and its people have learned so many ways of cooking with spices and creating amazing flavors. He believes that food will bring people peacefully together. He knows how very important it is to get to know each customer and build a relationship with them. In fact, David refers to customers as “guests” and they are treated as such.
The delicious food offerings not only come from Afghanistan, but also Iran, Turkey, Lebanon and Greece. All of the foods contain rich spices hailing from Afghanistan. Saffron, the spice that the restaurant is named after, comes from Afghanistan. The special flat bread used for dipping into the unique sauces is made in his bakery in NY.
