Newport News Restaurant Week Is Back

Restaurant Week runs January 11–25, with special menus popping up all over Newport News

LET'S EAT

Put down the air fryer and step away from the meal prep. Our favorite excuse to eat out is back. Newport News Restaurant Week  runs from January 11 through January 25, and it is basically a citywide permission slip to skip cooking.

This is the moment to finally walk into that place in Port Warwick or Hilton Village you always talk about but never try. Local chefs are rolling out two and three course menus at set prices, which means you can order like a regular without sweating the bill. Lunch spots get more interesting, dinner feels fancier, and your wallet stays mostly calm.

This year’s lineup has range. Amaro is holding things down for Italian nights when pasta just makes sense. Schlesinger’s is your move if you have been craving a proper steak. Circa 1918 and Indulge Bakery are ready to feed the Hilton Village crowd, and Crab Shack on the James pairs dinner with a sunset that does most of the talking.

The international options are especially strong. Saffron is serving main courses at prices that are hard to ignore. Lormnava Afrik Cuisine brings bold West African flavors to Jefferson Avenue. If you have been meaning to check out Saté or see what Bird Girl Bottle Shop is pouring lately, now is your window.

One quick reminder, skip the big chains and look local. Tables fill up fast, so check the menus, call ahead, and loosen that top button. Your kitchen will forgive you later.
