The Newport News Sheriff’s Office has introduced a newly wrapped vehicle highlighting Autism Awareness, Project Lifesaver, Alzheimer’s and Dementia Awareness, and Special Olympics Virginia. The cruiser features a bright puzzle-piece design and the message “Accept • Love • Understand.” But this vehicle is not just about turning heads on the road. It is meant to remind families across Newport News that they are seen, supported, and included. For parents, caregivers, athletes, seniors, and residents living with different challenges, that kind of visibility matters. The wrap also brings attention to programs and causes that support people who may need extra care, understanding, or assistance in the community. Project Lifesaver, for example, helps protect individuals who may wander due to Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, or other conditions. So when this cruiser rolls through Newport News, it carries more than a badge. It carries a message. If you spot it around town, go ahead and give them a wave. This is community care on wheels. |
