Late Night Water Outage This Week

Emergency water main repairs are scheduled along Jefferson Ave, from Ft. Eustis Blvd to Shields Rd, running Thursday night into Friday morning.

 

According to the City, the full outage begins Thursday, Jan. 8 at 11 pm and is expected to last until Friday, Jan. 9 around 6:30 am. Crews say the repair can’t wait, pushing it back raises the risk of a larger break.

 

Because the timeline is tight, door hangers will not be placed. Several nearby residential complexes are expected to feel the impact. Residents are encouraged to set aside water for drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth, and to pause laundry, dishwashers, and overnight showers. Extra planning is advised if water is critical for medical needs.

 

Overnight outages are never ideal. Crews are expected to work quickly to restore service before the morning rush.
