Two-day event spotlights 12 prime sites for growth and revitalization across the city |
Newport News is stepping into a season of change. The city has kicked off the NN EDGE Summit, short for Economic Development Growth & Expansion, a two-day event bringing developers, investors, and partners together to help shape what comes next.
Held October 1–2 at the Marriott City Center, the summit highlights 12 key sites across the city. From waterfronts to neighborhood centers, each spot carries the potential to breathe new life into our community.
The goal is clear: connect private investment with a public vision for steady, lasting growth. Mayor Phillip Jones called it “an exciting new chapter for Newport News,” while Cathy Williams, Chair of the Economic Development Authority, underscored the need for “strong public-private partnerships.”
Attendance is limited to invited guests, but residents can still keep tabs through city updates and local coverage. The plans revealed here could shape the look and feel of Newport News for years to come.
