Got an old car seat collecting dust? It's time to trade it in.

Drive Safe Hampton Roads is hosting its annual "Old, Used, Borrowed and Abused" Child Safety Seat Round-Up throughout February.

Using outdated or damaged car seats can pose serious risks to children in the event of a crash.

This initiative aims to remove such seats from circulation, ensuring the safety of young passengers.

The Bounty:

For each qualifying seat turned in, participants will receive a $5 gift card.

There's a limit of two rewards per person.

Is Your Seat "Wanted"?

Consider turning in your seat if it:

– Is over eight years old

– Was purchased from a yard sale or thrift store

– Has been involved in a crash

Where to Go:

Drop off your seats at select Walmart Supercenters or AAA Offices across Hampton Roads.

In Newport News, participating locations include:

– Walmart Supercenter at 12401 Jefferson Avenue

– Walmart Supercenter at 6111 Jefferson Avenue

– AAA Office at 733 J Clyde Morris Blvd.

This program is supported by local partners such as Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, Hoffman Beverage Co., and Huffman & Huffman.

For more details and to find the nearest drop-off location, visit the Drive Safe Hampton Roads website or call (757) 498-2562.
